Over the past decade or so, entertainment technology and the Internet have both grown by leaps and bounds. Because of that, there are more channels on TV than ever before and more interesting sites on the World Wide Web than ever before. In order to take full advantage of these developments, you need the absolute best access to the Internet possible, and the best television service provider you can possibly find. Fortunately you can find both in the form of Comcast. That’s because Comcast can provide you with hundreds of channels of digital cable TV along with high quality broadband Internet access, both at an affordable price.
Comcast has taken advantage of all of the latest technology to deliver the best cable TV service possible right to your home. This technology includes digital TV, HDTV, ON DEMAND, digital video recording, and interactive features that help you take control of how you watch TV. Digital TV is the TV format that provides the best picture quality possible. HDTV is the next generation of TV with a high resolution, wide screen format that mimics what you’d find on the screen of a movie theater. ON DEMAND is Comcast’s proprietary version of pay per view that allows you to start recently produced movies whenever you want, pause them, and replay scenes that your want to watch over again. The interactive features provided by Comcast include an on screen program guide that will let you determine what to watch without having to spend a half an hour channel surfing just to see what’s on. It’s a huge advantage when you have hundreds of channels to choose from as is the case with the larger programming packages. All subscriptions also come with interactive Parental Controls that let parents make the rules for what kids can and can’t watch.
Comcast’s broadband Internet service makes it possible to enjoy all of the best entertainment, information, and communication that the World Wide Web provides. You’ll be able to watch all of the best amateur videos on sites like YouTube, watch the latest news clips from outlets like CNN, stream audio from all of your favorite Internet radio stations, and download digital audio files including your favorite new songs and podcasts. It will also be easy to take advantage of the software updates that will keep your computer problem free, and participate in some of the best online games.
Comcast also makes it easy to get set up with broadband Internet by providing a cable modem and a wireless router. The wireless router will allow every wireless device in your home to access the Internet through the cable modem. That means that all of your laptop computers, desktop computers, and other devices like smart phones will be able to take advantage of the Internet in your home without actually plugging into anything!
Another feature offered by Comcast- one that people don’t normally associate with digital cable TV or the Internet- is phone service. While it may seem convenient to bundle phone service in with broadband Internet and digital cable TV, the convenience of phone service with Comcast goes way beyond that. That’s because, this phone service offers an incredible combination of free domestic long distance calls (including calls to Canada) and including all of the most commonly used bonus features that other companies charge extra for, all in one low monthly bill!
Recent advances in technology have the promise of changing your life for the better, and no one does as good of a job as Comcast when it comes to bringing all of those advances together! This is the end of your search. Start Now. Switch to the top cable provider.

There are a lot of places you can meet with singles in Pennsylvania. It does not have to be an obvious place like a singles club or an online dating site. You can still go to a public place like a park, a night club, beach and a museum and still meet with a great single person. One you will spend the rest of your life loving and being committed to. The secret to meeting with a great person is talking. If you do not talk to people and be social with them you are mostly likely never to meet with someone you love. People are attracted to friendly people, good conversationalist and interesting people. Go have fun in this places and at the same time, try to find someone special by talking to the people around.
Pennsylvania has a lot of nice beaches that you can go to. There are a lot of people who go to the gym during the summer season to enjoy the nice sun. There are beaches like Paradise beach which is found in the Armstrong county and the Presque Beach. While in any of these beaches, you can walk around and find interesting people around the water or on the beach. If there is a group of people playing a game do not be shy. Take part in some of the games. This way, you are more likely to find someone interesting. The Presque Isle State Park beach also has some hiking trails that you can also take. If you love surfing, you will find a lot of people who love surfing here. You can then make friends with the surfers and perhaps meet with some great singles in Pennsylvania. You can always make a surfing date if you like.
While you are in Pennsylvania, make a point of visiting their parks. They have parks like Hickory Run State Park which has a lot of swimming, hunting and fishing going on there. There is also the Promised Land State Park which has a lot of activities like swimming, hiking, fishing and trail biking. If you love camping you can go to Locust Lake State Park which is great for camping. While camping you might meet with someone who came to camp for fun and you might be perfect for each other. You never know where you will meet with your loved one. To meet with someone good and interesting, you must also do and go to places that are interesting and singles in Pennsylvania frequent.
There are singles clubs and groups that you can go to meet with singles in Pennsylvania. Even the singles parents in Pennsylvania have got their own group which is called Parents Without Partners. There is also a group called Sophisticated Singles which is found in the Pittsburgh area, The Singles Endeavor which is found in the western part of Philadelphia. This groups have a lot of people registered who are looking for someone special. If you join one of this groups, you might find yourself a date as quickly as you can. Remember the secret to finding someone great is being able to talk to the ones that are near you. Love is never too far.

I few years ago my mate got a camera so we went for a wave and took turns filming. It was a humbling experience. My Occy like turns and Slater like snaps looked nothing like the ones I’d seen in my own private movie theatre (my head). Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this baseball bat to the ego?
Yesss! It’s awful! A bit like hearing your voice being played back to you.
But, the silver lining (and it’s a big lining) is that watching these cringey moments is one of the best ways to improve your technique.
I don’t know what level you have but once you have mastered the basics and are on to turning and snaps then there’s pretty much no better way to learn, improve and get ever closer to those Occy turns and Slater snaps…
Buenas olas
Ok my mom started me in surfing lessons and i know i can do the big waves but does anybody know some tips for me while im in the water how to not fall off my board i really need help….PLEASE! Ok well thank you, everyone:D Allsmiles:D
"im starting surfing lessons" and "i know i can surf big waves" but you dont know how to stop falling off?
Keep doing the surfing lessons on small waves, you’re not ready for big waves.
Im about 6’0 or 6’1 and 145-150 lbs ive never surfed but im takin lessons soon and movin to oceanside cali,so how do i choose a good surfboard? and should i buy a epoxy or fiberglass board?
Surfing is an ocean sport, that should only be practiced by persons who are already competent ocean swimmers. Swimming in a pool is neat, but it’s not ocean swimming, with undertows, rip tides and sometimes BIG waves. I have seen lots of great pool swimmers get rescued. So, I hope you are already at home in the ocean.
Lessons are the best way to start, unless you are a young adult or adolescent with surfing pals who can teach you. If you have been borrowing your pal’s board, get him to help you along. You have to learn surf etiquette (so the experienced surfers in the line up don’t want to drown you), how to paddle and take off on a wave, and how to ride a wave. There are already way too many dangerous people in the water. A danger to themselves and other surfers. Don’t join their ranks.
Go to a real surf shop. The folks there can hook you up with lessons, and even rent you a board to learn on.). Just work on your basics, and after you feel good, think about buying a board, but don’t rush into anything. And, please don’t waste your time (or money) buying something on line. Don’t be in a rush to buy a board! TRY before you BUY. Rent a variety of types of surfboards, or borrow them from your friends who surf. A surfboard is a big investment.
Be careful of what you read here on line. After I found this site, I figured that I could answer a few questions, and spread the ‘good news’ of surfing. Get your REAL advice from a surf shop. However, if they think you are just a ‘kook’ tourist out to rent a board, you won’t necessarily get the best attention.
Most people learn best on long boards, although I have seen lots of surfers start on a short board and master it. In the long run, there are NO RULES on what type of board you have to learn on. Long boards are ideal for learners. There are also good internediate length boards to learn on, funshapes, mini-mals and some hybrids. That is why instructors use long boards or fun boards (or even softtops).
If you are fairly athletic, after a couple lessons (either formal or from pals who surf), you should be able get a good grasp on the basics. I remember Although surfing is extremely different for other board sports (you have to paddle out, paddle to catch waves etc.), most of the board sports (snow, skate, indo) that improve balance are good supplemental workouts.
THE REAL BOTTOM LINE IS: Go to a Surf Shop, not a computer. I have been surfing since 1966 and I get my surfboard advice at good local shops at the places where I surf. The pros there can give you the right answers!!
Good luck. Once you try surfing (and learn the ‘right way’) you’ll have fun for life
My hair is really thick and coarse but once I straighten it you would never know it’s really that way. Is it possible to create big, gorgeous waves with straightened hair?
Yes, what you have to do is finger curl it. Basically, get a lock of hair and wrap your finger around the bit at the bottom and work your way up and hold it and the roots for like a minute and let go.
I’m looking to find out as much about the online surfing community as I can. Can anyone recommend their favorite blogs, twitter handles, or sites that you find most comprehensive? Which ones are most popular? Thanks!
Probably your best bet is to locate the site targeted at your local region. If you want general sites, I’ve found those below are often interesting and have comprehensive information on a regular basis.
The #1 surfing blog site on yahoo is worldwidesurfers. It started out for surfers in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia communities, but now has members from all over the world, including a couple of surfing hall of fame members, posting there on a regular basis.
Another good site is google groups alt.surfing. This is the oldest blog site. There is a crew posting on the site that has used it for years. I first posted on the site when it started up around 1993 or 1994.
Second light is a great site for the Florida crowd. Lots of interesting posts in a number of catagories. Oregon has a similar site for locals called the Oregon Surf Report.
The Glide has some interesting posts and information, particularly if you like to follow the pro circuit.
For shaping info, the Swaylocks forum is definately the place to visit.
On November 10, 2007, Gerry Lopez and his surfing hero, Jock Sutherland, gave a slide show presentation entitled “Talkin’ Pipe” at the Patagonia surf shop in Cardiff, California. They talked about their own experiences at Pipeline and shared observations on the current scene there to a backdrop of photos provided by Jeff Divine and Surfer Magazine.
Produced and coordinated by Cardiff store manager Devon Howard, the event drew a standing room only crowd numbering over 550 people. We’re proud to present this multi-part series and hope that it gives you a sense of what it’s like to sit down and hear two surf legends talk story.
