Contrary to most of the events on the pro circuit, the Rip Curl Pro Search WCT hold what is officially called an ASP Floating License , which means that it can set up wherever they want, depending on where the best waves are.

In 2006, Rip Curl had chosen Central America and the Mexican coast to host a stage of Fosters ASP circuit for the first time. The 4th stage of the Dream Tour took place between June 20th and July 1st 2006, in Puerto Escondido region. The site offered on the longest and the most tubular waves of the season.

A standing-wave interference pattern is set up by radio waves between two metal sheets d= 1.76 m apart. This is the shortest distance between the plates that will produce a standing-wave pattern. What is the fundamental frequency of the radio waves?

Remember that the speed of any wave is equal to the frequency times the wavelength, v = f?.

And in any standing wave which has a node at both ends (which must occur since the wave will be ‘fixed’ at both ends, i.e. not free to move at the ends) including a radio wave, the fundamental occurs when the length of the standing wave interference pattern is exactly half a wavelength long, and since the length of this standing wave interference pattern is 1.76 m, this tells you the wavelength of the wave is 2 x 1.76 m = 3.52 m.

Also the speed of the wave will be the speed of any radio wave, which is the same as the speed of light, 3 x 10^8 m/s.

f = v/?, frequency is speed divided by wavelength. So the frequency of the fundamental is
f = (3 x 10^8 m/s)/(3.52) = 8.52 x 10^7 s^-1 = 8.52 x 10^7 Hz = 85.2 MHz.

Surf and bodyboard are dangerous sports when high tide and bigger waves come together in this place. I have somewhat thick hair thats greasy at the roots and then dry at the ends. It does get some nice waves but they tend to fall out often so any products that will make the waves last and reduce frizz (while not making my hair greasy) would be sooooo appreciated!

Samy, they’re sold at Rite-Aid or Walgreens.

I know it will do good on curly/wavy hair and no frizz, because I’ve seen the result.

Frizz is caused by brushing hair when it’s dry.

Wash/towel dry, scrunch with gel, blow-dry using diffuser and you’re good to go, while scrunching with fingers.

I’ve recently moved to a beach town and am trying to find anew hobby. I’m looking for an ocean sport aside from surfing, something differnt, I’d really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

depending on the ocean conditions, other water sports may include kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, kite sailing, jet skis, rowing, snorkeling and scuba diving, cruising (powerboat) and fishing.
