i’m sure anyone who has surfed a wave this big has been scared or nervous

basically what motivated you to try and surf these big waves?

were you confident in your ability that you would be able to handle these big of waves?
did you just charge it and not think about it?
i’m not even comfortable surfing 5ft so i’m deciding whether to go out in tomorrows swell or not

Waves run the spectrum of:
- Flat (Too small to go out)
- Small (Flat; but I went out anyway)
- Perfect (Just right!)
- Big (A bit outside my comfort zone)
- Huge (I shouldn’t have paddled out)
- Out of control (I didn’t paddle out)
With any number of additional levels in between (and whatever labels you prefer on them). The heights of the waves vary for every surfer. If you spend time out on Big days then your comfort zone will gradually shift to larger waves. Too many Huge days will cause your comfort zone to shrink.

Freestyle surf sessions, cash prizes, and summers in Malibu, Kassia Meador is definitely living the high life. In this interview she describes her future career moves, her favorite times to surf, and introduces us to some female longboarders.
