I live in Orlando Florida have for about 8 months How do i find out if the waves our big anywhre here to surf?
I enjoy to surf, but can never find out where the waves are big, is there a certain website i can check daily or something. Hopefully somebody knows?
Yes, Orlando is landlocked! But it is only about an hour and a half to Cocoa Beach, and within about two hours, you can be at some of the state’s best surf spots. I live 2 hours from the closest beach, does that mean I don’t go surfing? Hell no. Lots of surf shops up and down the coast have web sites with web cams and local wave reports that are pretty accurate. You can also subscribe to E-mail alerts from surfline.com, I do, and they are generally great information. Magicseaweed isn’t bad, but swell info from buoys doesn’t always translate into ride-able waves, so you need to study the weather, too. I am an old timer, and by watching the weather reports, and checking the buoy info, I can make some pretty fair predictions on my own. Good luck

Here are some links. They are from the Nat’l Data Bouy Center. The info they give is almost real time-the delays are usually ten minutes to an hour and a half. The bouy data stations that will be of most relevance to you is #41009, #41114, and #41113.
