    They didn’t mention it but this is at the legendary Mavericks between SF and Santa Cruz in San Mateo County. Some of the largest waves in the world occur here when conditions are right–usually in the winter in stormy weather. Treacherous, though. Some of the world’s best surfers have died at this spot. Rogue waves, such as the one pictured in the video, are pretty rare.
