I wear a wetsuit when I go surfing, and I surf pretty much every day. However, since the past couple of days, my armpits have been chafing from paddling. I think that it’s the wetsuit rubbing against the skin of my armpit. It’s gotten to the point where it’s very painful to apply deodorant or paddle. I’ve tried wearing a rash guard beneath my wetsuit, but that didn’t help.

you can probably stick on some fabric to the inside of the wetsuit which should cover the part which is irritating, which is probably a seam, which should at least lessen the irritation.
if its still uncomfortable then try a thicker rash vest, make sure that the wetsuit/rash vest are not bunching up at the joint as that can irritate.

I really want to surf eventually, but I am landlocked at the moment.
There is literally nowhere to surf where I am at – no ocean, no lakes, nothing.
What can I do in the meantime to train myself for surfing, so that I am better when I start?

I am sure you don’t want to hear this, but the truth is, NOTHING. Surfing is an ocean sport that involves a complex set of ocean skills. However, there are things that you can do ashore that will help condition yourself. Being in great aerobic shape is one thins. Run and or swim often. Pool swimming won’t replace ocean swimming, but it is a great work out. Other board sports can help improve your balance. Using an Indo board is a popular balance improvement tool for lots of surfers.

If you are in decent aerobic shape, have decent balance and a average degree of athleticism, you next need to learn how to be at home in the ocean. Real surfing is not done in the waist deep white water at the water’s edge. When you are comfortable in the ocean, a few good surfing lessons will get you started. However, no matter how well you ski, or wake-board or skateboard, it is all different from surfing. In surfing, the ability to paddle and take off on a wave takes priority over balancing once you have caught it.

i love the beach and everything about it. unfortunately i don’t love by one. i plan to move to a beach someday. so anyways how can i improve my surfing when i’m not at the beach?

The most essential part of surfing is the balance part. If you can’t balance then you can’t surf. It’s as simple as that.

The best way to improve your balance on a surfboard is probably by buying an indo board. These can range from 100-500 dollars. Try buying one on RonJon.com or some other website based on surfing such as MagicSeaweed.com.

Another great way to improve balance is by doing yoga. Go to your local store such as Walmart or Target and pick up a Yoga Instructional video and do the exercises 3 to 4 times a week. This really helps you keep your center of balance and with in turn help you stay on the board.

Another thing you should work on it shoulder strength for paddling. You can swim in a pool, do pull ups, or push ups to increase upper body strength.

Hope I helped

I’m thinking about their language, music, and clothing, but I can’t write much about it. Another idea is their values, their rituals, their life style…
What else would you suggest to support the idea that surfing is a culture?

You could talk about how they migrate. Surfers move around often hitting the best surfing spots and often meet up with people they’ve known at previous places at new ones. They have their own clique within the larger society but are definitely a sub-culture much like you find various sub-cultures in a common high school.

1. Language – this is a big one
2. Rituals – care for their boards, when they go surfing, where they go to surf
3. Migration patterns
4. Life style – where do they live? beach condos, crash with friends, on the beach literally, etc
5. Style – clothing, hair, tan vs no tan, etc.

Hope that helped you get a bit more organized =]

If you have a data tarif (10Gb in this case) that’s just what you get – 10Gb of data to download however you like!

Downloading Movies will quickly use up your available quota of data….. Music files less so…. Normal Web Pages use very little data!

This means you would be able to Surf for many hours!…. I used to have 3Gb package and some months didn’t use all of it!!!

When decorating a teen’s bedroom, there is so much more at stake than simply a tasteful finish. Teenagers want their bedrooms to express their individual style and who they are becoming as they mature. The most success teen bedrooms are ones that involved the teens themselves in the majority of the décor decision making. For your teenager, it is more about being treated like a young adult and feeling trusted than the décor itself, so try be open minded to their ideas and be willing to compromise. Introducing a set of boundaries and guidelines right from the start will avoid any tantrums and show let them know you are willing to bend within reason.

Unlike rooms for young children, their probably won’t be an overall theme to the room as the interests and influences of teenagers vary greatly and alter rapidly. A much more eclectic style is probably more likely to keep them entertained.

When your teenage son or daughter shocks you with the news of their intention to paint their room black, this is not normally something driven by morbid woes. What this act really is, is an attempt to be taken more seriously and move away from the frills and pinks or blues and balls. Instead of black, offer some other equally sophisticated shades such as a deep aubergine, rich burgundy or chic teal or cappuccino. Then add some dark wooden blinds for real urban cool. And seen as they want to be treated like grown ups explain that grown ups have pictures rather than posters, obviously you must allow them their heroes so offer to better hang their poster collection in some youthful frameless glass mounts. Mix this up with some contemporary wall art.

When choosing furniture remember to consider any hobbies your teen might have. We know that teenagers spend a lot of time surfing the net, listening to music and playing games on their video consoles so look for contemporary furniture that helps house such activities.

Bedspreads, cushions, beanbags and any other soft furnishing are all temporary and can be changed at any point so use such items to show how much space to make decisions you are allowing your teen by giving them total say over them.

Be wary of making your teenagers bedrooms too much of a haven, and certainly do not include a microwave- it may seem like a long way off but one day you will want them to actually leave! Stay alert for tell tale signs that your teen is setting up a landlord free home for life and look out for the following classic give aways- a bath, a toilet, a fridge or, if for instance your address happens to be No 11 Long Lane, any mail suspiciously addressed to No. 11A!

Hopefully all of the clever compromising will pay off as with a room that they feel they had a big influence in designing, your teenagers will treat the space with respect consider it their responsibility- perhaps for a whole week!

Tynemouth is a village located on the North-East coast of England at the mouth of the River Tyne, it is, 6 miles from the centre of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

It has stunning beaches with a wide range of water sports, including surfing, sailing, kite surfing, wind surfing, jet ski, sub aqua, swimming and canoeing. Tynemouth has two award winning Blue Flag beaches.

Tynemouth is popular locally for its beaches. Long sands is wide and sandy, with rolling surf. In recent years it has become a well known surfing beach, and has hosted international surfing competitions. Tynemouth Long sands is home to the Oneill British National surfing Championships with the 2005 event attracting the largest audiences to date. King Edwards Bay is a smaller, more secluded beach next to the priory.

On the headland overlooking the river are the Tynemouth Priory and Castle, dating back to the 11th Century. The village itself is now a conservation area mostly comprised of buildings from the 18th and 19th century. Tynemouth Priory and Castle, an English Heritage managed attraction stands at the end of Front Street and is a site of religious significance as well as a burial place of kings and saints.

Tynemouth has a boating lake, the Long sands Mini Golf and the Childhood Memories Toy Museum. The Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade Museum charts the history of the worlds first volunteer Life Brigade.

Nearby is the monument to Admiral Lord Collingwood which was erected in 1845 by public subscription. Newcastle born, Collingwood led the fleet into action at the Battle of Trafalgar as Nelsons second in command and is buried in St. Pauls Cathedral. Striking a heroic pose, his statue gazes resolutely across the mouth of the Tyne and out to the North Sea. The four guns on the plinth of the 23 metre high monument were taken from the Royal Sovereign, which Collingwood captained at Trafalgar

Arrival and orientation Tynemouth Station, first built in 1882 and Grade II listed since the late 1970s, is the gateway to the faded grandeur of the surrounding village. Every ten minutes red and yellow Metro trains stop below the elegant wrought iron and glass roof, held up by ornately carved beams winding up to red brick chimneys and cloudy skies. Double footbridges arch between wide platforms that house Bric-a-brac and Arts and Crafts markets every weekend. Outside the station, across the small car park and opposite a cluster of neat suburban gardens.

+Any laptop will fit that bill. It is the quality of the laptop itself that you should be concerned with. Dell and HP are good quality laptops. On the other hand, I would not recommend Acer or Gateway. Toshiba is not high on the list either.
