Circumventing internet blocks and avoiding censors has become an important part of web surfing for many users. Censors can range from a restrictive government regime to a company or school’s IT department and web surfers are always looking for a way to get through tight controls. Users need to maintain a certain level of privacy and anonymity when circumventing censors, especially since many companies will fire an employee for surfing, or in extreme cases a government can fine or imprison a web surfer for browsing on sites they deem to be inappropriate. Many products and services can be found to help users break free of stringent internet censors, allowing netizens to surf freely without the fear of oppressive bodies controlling their every movement. These products offer users unique ways to maintain their internet privacy and connect to the World Wide Web without any restrictions.

One way users can outsmart censors is by using Psiphon. Psiphon is a web proxy that was directly created to circumvent the tight Internet censorship of countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, and Cuba. The traffic between clients and servers is encrypted with “https” as the data is being transferred. Psiphon is offers users the advantage of turning their computers into servers that can display web pages from anywhere. This proxy works over trusted connections as opposed to an open proxy which travels over untrusted networks. Users in countries with tight censorship can log in and send a request to a server located in another country to gain access to blocked websites. Users do not have to download any software, meaning no traces of circumventors are found on the hard drive. While Psiphon can gain access to censored content it does not act as an anonymizer and all the client’s activities are logged in Psiphon’s servers, leaving it vulnerable to cyber attacks and hackers/crackers looking for information.

Another popular method is The Onion Router, also known as TOR. This service allows users to stay invisible against traffic analysis by relaying the network connection over various gateways. Since the gateways are themselves anonymous, users can have their data relayed around the world. Users do not have direct access to the site they visit, instead they are sent through a series of connections, called relays, which are individually encrypted. It is then sent to the next gateway until it reaches the exit node and the user can then see the website that was requested. TOR uses cryptography in layers, which is where the “onion” reference originated, and encrypts each connecting node individually. This allows user to remain highly anonymous since each node only knows where they receive the information from and which node they are sending the signal to. While this service has become quite popular it does have one major flaw. A user can set up a node which records all the information it receives and sends, ultimately tracking a users surfing habits.

A third method for circumventing blocks is with the Java Anon Proxy, commonly referred to as JonDo. This method allows users to choose which network to surf through. These networks are run by independent organizations. After a user chooses their network, the data stream is scrambled and mixed with other users’ data. This allows users to remain anonymous since anyone attempting to spy on or restrict the data flow is confused by the cluttered connection. Unlike TOR, the operators are not anonymous, which allows a user to decide which operators they will or will not trust with their information. A major drawback of this service is that all the operators, also known as mix cascades, can record their logs and compare them to reveal users’ online activities.

One of the most popular methods to access censored content is by using anonymous proxy servers, either in website form or software-based. These proxies are very common and can be found through the various search engines. Web-based proxies are very easy to implement, which attests to their abundance. While anonymous proxy sites are easy to block, the ease of creating new ones makes it a common go-to for surfers. Many surfers prefer to use the software-based proxy since it will usually offer more security features, such as encrypting the connection and also hiding the port and origin website of the surfer. Anonymous surfing software and websites allow a user to surf anonymously by redirecting their connection through a server which masks the real IP with one generated by the server. Private proxy servers will also rotate IP addresses and randomly refresh so that a user is not constantly surfing with the same IP address. This allows users facing strict censorship to mask their IP address with one from a different country, which will allow the user free reign to surf the Internet.

These methods all give users the opportunity to circumvent restrictions placed on their web surfing. Censors are always looking for ways to keep their restrictions in place and these services can help users fight back against those policing the internet. While in rare occurrences these controls and bans are lifted, it is unlikely that a user will be able to access the World Wide Web freely. Using one of these methods ensures users their internet privacy remains intact and shifts the power back into the hands of the netizens that are being told where they can and can’t surf and what content they are allowed to view.

If you are looking for a way to grow your web site traffic without blowing your budget, perhaps you should look to the free traffic exchanges. Traffic exchanges are basically surfing membership opt-in sites on the web where they will display your advertisement or webpage to other members when they are surfing the site.

Traffic exchanges provide a free traffic and advertising method where a person signs up as a member and sets up a webpage URL to advertise his/her program or product. The traffic exchange will then rotate the URL webpage to its members based upon the amount of surfing you do. In general, traffic exchanges provide a ratio of 0.6:1.0 for each page surfed by a free member. This means that for every page you surf, you get 0.6 page credit for surfing. A few of them provide a 1:1 ratio for free members. Depending on the amount you surf, they may also credit you with bonus credits (i.e., 500 bonus credits for surfing “x” number of pages). Page rotations are timed and the time varies from 10 seconds to 30 seconds, depending on the traffic exchange.

Most traffic exchanges also provide a paid “upgraded membership” (a small monthly fee) which will give you a higher credit ratio and other incentives when you surf.

Ezine Article

There are two other advertising tools provided by most traffic exchanges which are beneficial to a website owner. These tools are a referral link to the traffic exchange site and a Safe List advertising option.

1. If you promote the Referral Link, and others join the Traffic Exchange through your referral link, you will receive page view credits when your referrals surf.

2. You can utilize traffic exchange Safe Lists to send your email ads to the Safe List members of that traffic exchange.

You should know that both manual and auto-surf traffic exchanges are available to work with:

Manual Traffic Exchanges — Manual traffic exchanges generally have a 15 to 30 second timer and you have to click on an icon or text area after the timer runs out to rotate to the next traffic exchange page for viewing. This is done to assure that the pages get viewed by the user. The manual traffic exchanges usually provide a better credit ratio per page than auto-surf traffic exchanges. Manual traffic exchange advertising will get a better click ratio on your ads compared to the auto-surf.

Auto-surf Traffic Exchanges — Auto-surf traffic exchanges usually have a 5 to 15 second timer and the page views rotate automatically at the end of the timer run out. The auto-surf traffic exchanges usually provide a 0.6:1 credit ratio for surfing. The advantage of the auto-surf rotation is that the user does not have to click once or twice for each page viewed and more page view credits are accumulated as the timer is shorter and allows more page views per minute.

You can cut down on your surfing time by using a free multi-tabbed browser (i.e., Mozilla, Firefox, Crazy Browser).

Traffic exchange advertising may not be considered as “targeted advertising” (i.e., email and ezine advertising or search engine clicks), but it provides free traffic which will improve your site ranking and promotes your program or product at the same time.

Advertising with traffic exchanges is really simple once you start thinking of traffic exchanges as TV ads. You only have the viewer’s attention for a few seconds, so your sales page must grab it and give them an action they can take. Some people say that traffic exchange advertising does not work, but traffic exchange advertising is only one aspect of promoting your site. A site owner should diversify site advertising into as many available avenues as possible and track the ads to see what is working best and adjust his marketing strategy accordingly.

Getting free traffic and free advertising through the traffic exchanges is certainly worth considering.

Traffic Exchanges are of interest to MLM recruiters as a source of free leads because they are populated by our natural prospects, namely internet marketers looking for traffic and opportunities.

The main problem is that it takes too long to generate any great volume of traffic credits, so the unit cost of a recruit is high in time expended.

For those of you who just don’t have the finance for paid traffic, I offer these tips to raise your productivity and reduce your time spent per member recruited.

SOME SECRETS OF TE SUCCESS:

Use only the top manual exchanges (see Traffic Hoopla ratings) – most of the rest are a total waste of time.
Traffic Hoopla is an independent ratings agency with useful links to the better exchanges. A link to Traffic Hoopla is provided in the author resource box below.

You should limit the exchanges you use and usually it pays to upgrade to Pro (paid) status. Paid upgrades in the top exchanges are generally good value.

Paid members get many more credits for their surfing and may also benefit from random referrals to their downline. Usually there is a monthly allocation of traffic included in your subscription.

When surfing it is best to set a regular date to go surfing without interruption and use a multi-tabbed browser (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox) to run several surfs at the same time so that you are never kept waiting to click and claim your credit. If you are interested in a page, “control click” opens a new page to read at your leisure and releases the original page to be clicked off for credit.

You must build a downline to make TEs work economically with your time. To achieve this you reinvest a percentage (say 20% to 50%) of all your surfing credits into promoting your other exchanges. As your downline builds you will then get free traffic credits from your downline’s surfing. This is a cumulative process like compound interest. It starts slowly but you get to a point where you receive steady traffic without surfing much at all yourself.

Advertising with a splash page (cost about $25) usually works better than your full sales letter. In a TE you get maybe 3 seconds to engage attention and then you’ve lost ‘em. So you use the splash page as a graphic intensive headline to grab attention.

Then when they click the splash page you open your full sales letter as a new page. Because the new page does not interrupt surfing and is not overwritten – it may actually get read.

You should track all your advertising – without fail.

Testing and comparison. Reinforcing the strong and culling the weak. This is how nature works – it’s called Evolution. And we all know that it works, don’t we?

You will find vast discrepancies between different ads and different traffic exchanges. The strangest little quirks make big differences to an ad’s performance. Tracking, Testing and Tweaking will do more for your productivity than any other improvement.

SUMMARY

Stick to the top exchanges and upgrade to PRO; organize your time; build a downline; use splash pages; TRACK, TEST and TWEAK

I wish you Happy and Productive Surfing – but not too much of it! Your time is valuable, so don’t delude yourself that Traffic Exchange leads come free. Limit the time you spend on Traffic Exchanges and push hard to make that time as productive as you can make it.

Surf Travel to South Africa

Feb-8-2011 By admin

Arriving in Cape Town is over whelming, the first thing you notice is the warmth and friendly attitude to you the surfer.  This country has been through so much in the past 30 years and it has always been my dream to set foot on its soil to surf the glorious waves that caress its shores daily. South Africa is blessed with some of the best and most consistent surf the world has to offer. Couple this with the mild climate and you have a surfing paradise. During the South African winter the coastline is supplied with almost endless groundswell and offshore winds due to the constant flow of cold front activity in the southern Atlantic.  So as a surfer arriving from a rainy Oregon to find warmth and amazing surf is a dream come true.

The tour I was on, involved sessions at numerous South African premier surf spots which include Jeffrey’s Bay, Seal Point, Victoria Bay, Bruce’s Beauties and as well as many other spots that “crank” in winter. Dylan collected me after arrival and we were all packed up to head off along the coast.  South African surfers are always so stoked it is amazing and Dylan was no acceptation to that rule and assured me that he had a thorough knowledge of surfing in the area and that he was our tour guide.  Furthermore he practically guaranteed me that I will get to the respective spots when they are at their best, he just fell short in advising me he had arranged the swell as well.

As we arrived at the lodge on the outskirts of town I was greeted by the other surfers on the tour who had arrived a day or two earlier.  Dylan whispered in my ear and ensured me with an eager smile that the tour remains personal and that by limiting the number of people on each tour guarantees we all get a great time. Like all South African’s he is proud of the countries surf and then could not refrain from telling me yet again for the 5th time that he would ensure I surfed as many African barrels as possible. Umm…. I went to bed with that thought. My second day started with Dylan taking the tour to a place at Muzuimbrug, an ideal spot he assured me to get acquainted to African Waves. ‘Muzies’ as it is known, is renowned for its rolling and very consistent A-Frame waves and endless stretch of beach.  Whilst Dylan provided surf lessons for some learners on the tour I paddled out the back to enjoy some glass morning surf.

After a hearty lunch we set off on an orientation tour of the stunning Cape Peninsula, Dylan believed this would help us get our bearing on the land and we also had a visit to the Cape Point Nature reserve as well as Cape Towns more famous tourist sights including a visit to boulders beach where wild penguins happily play.

The morning of day 3 was an important one for me personally as I could not wait to set out on our first port of call which was a 65-meter bungee at Gouritz. This is optional on the tour but it’s highly recommended to get you stoked and ready for the adventure that lies ahead and I was game for it. If you plan on doing the worlds highest one later in the trip, I suggest you do this one first to get a feel for it! I did not opt for the higher…

Along the way we stopped at Mossel Bay for a surf session, there was a selection of 3 breaks to choose from, Inner and Outer Pool as well as Ding Dangs. Depending on the conditions and your standard the surf guides will take you to the one with most zest, and they selected one just fine for me.

Inner Pool’s wave breaks very close to famed outer Pool off a section of rocks, walls up when at its best and is usually surfed when Outers is flat. Outer Pool Gets large and challenging in solid winter swell but is usually surfed when clean and orderly in light westerly winds. Outer offers a cooking right hand reef break with a solid wall and a long ride. Ding Dang’s a fun hotdog wave that works when winter swell wraps around cape St Blaise.

After the surf, we set off on the road again, the most beautiful scenery as we enter the ‘Garden Route’ is breath taking and most of us all sighed with disbelief at the views and the panorama that was unrolling ahead of us. Depending on the time of year, apparently the guides can surprise the group and dive for some crayfish (Cape Rock lobster) along the way for the evening dinner, this was not the case for my tour but I gather it can be the norm.

It’s up early to get the best swell the next morning and we all opted to head for a spot called Buffalo Bay Point – a very similar wave to Bruce’s Beauties that too me was going to be the highlight of the tour and was to come so I took this as a trial event.  The point can get superlative in the right conditions by all accounts and before leaving the US I had heard great reports of the conditions that can be found here so was please to see a perfect 3ft day.

That evening we checked into another local surf lodge, and zipped out for and evening surf! We headed off to a place I had dreamed of since first seeing the movie Endless Summer – Bruce’s Beauties – it breaks a lot more often than is thought of and is by know means a gentle long boarders paradise. When cooking, Bruce’s is a screaming right hand point that freight trains along a jagged line of rocks. “Get ready for mean gaping barrels” Dylan shouted as he disappeared into the water, leaving the rest of us half changed, running and falling every other step!  It was just like a clip from the movie here I was about to hit the surf of Endless Summer.

The next day I found it very difficult to get up to be honest, three great days of epic surf and with another few more to comes I just could not cope… my body was feeling the flight and the perfect surf of the night before.  So rather than surf I just joined the tour to watch the rest of the group under a go some lessons on the beach and sat back enjoying the wild environment that seemed as if Portland and US Airports was just a forgotten memory.  I could not believe that only 90+ hours ago I was crammed into a bus in Portland with a huge longboard knocking everyone that moved.  Now I lay head back on the sand listening to the sounds of sea birds and knowing that I am totally at peace and having the best surf trip in my life.  Sure I have surfed some amazing spots but to surf a spot I have seen over a thousand time son video and then to actually enjoy it going off better than in the film was beyond even my wildest thoughts of surfing in South Africa.

After a few more days of touring and surfing spots such as Boneyards, Supertubes, Salad bowls, J-Bay, Tubes, Point and Albatross it was time to start to head back in the direction of the Cape.  Everyone on the tour had become exhausted and tired but we were now a travelling surf family too tired to talk but desperate for one more last surf before the Cape and we were not disappointed as slowly we drove towards Buffalo Bay again and it was just as we left it, perfect……

As we drove in to Cape Town the next day Dylan turned to us all and said “How about Sky diving, or Paragliding? – We can even arrange a shark dive if you wish!” – in a great chorus we all said “shut up man… we are exhausted!”  The one thing you can say about South African’s they are a great friendly bunch and the stoke of surfing runs deep in there veins.

The beauty of the tour I think was summed up by the people on it, from 6 surfers who were learning to surf for the first time and having lessons daily to the rest of us who ranged from beginner to advanced.  We all surfed well and all experienced the conditions first hand.  We all had our own experiences and that is something all of us will take away and is our surf memory – an amazing surf trip.

I travelled with Xoxxi ( http://www.xoxxisurf.com ) which is a surf brand run by regular surfers for regular surfers and they were very helpful in this unique travel surfing experience.  You can also visit the South African tourism website at ( http://www.southafrica.net ) for other information on visiting the country.  You may also like to purchase a book, and I would recommend Surfing in South Africa, By Steve Pike (ISBN: 1919833153).

I am an international student in UCI.
I am going to finish my course this month and I will leave here in March.
Before I leave here, I want to learn surfing.
But I worry about if I can do that even in winter or not.
Please give me the advice about what I shoud do.

You have plenty of options for lessons right close in Huntington Beach all year long. This time of year is good because the classes are small. If you want a private lesson that will work as well. Just show up and the school will provide you with everything you need.

I recommend using a National Surf Schools and Instructors Association accredited school or at the least a certified instructor. There are many around for you to select from. Go on their web site and just email when your are ready. If you can’t afford a lesson from a pro-instructor, try the surf club at your school. They have programs for beginners as well.

You shouldn’t need more that a couple of lessons spread apart to get everything you need from board safety to etiquette.

Cornwall is packed with things to do, including many fabulous family attractions such as Cornwall’s Crealy Adventure Park, a great venue with thrilling rides, play zones and animals. Children can enjoy endless play in the Adventure Realm, whilst those who like magic and mystery will love the Enchanted Forest or Haunted House. Brave little explorers will enjoy riding the Thunder Falls Log Flume and boarding the Viking Pirate Ship. Animal lovers will adore the barn full of baby bunnies, cute goat kids and fluffy lambs or even taking a ride on a horse. Crealy’s Cornwall truly is the ultimate adventure playground and a fabulous, fun-filled family day out for all.

Return to Eden

Worth putting on your things to do in Cornwall list is a visit to the Eden Project. Situated in a former china clay pit near St Austell, this is a global garden kids and adults alike will love with its two giant domed greenhouses or ‘biomes’. The steamy tropical biome is filled with exotics from the tropics such as bananas, bamboo, cocoa and mango trees and during the summer Eden pulls out the stops for children with games, story telling, trails and a Den Building Challenge. In the winter Eden becomes a magical winter wonderland with ice-skating, fires, music, story telling and lantern parades.

The Magic of Merlin

If the legends of Merlin and King Arthur fascinate your children, then on your things to do in Cornwall list must be a visit to Tintagel Castle. With its spectacular location on north Cornwall’s dramatic and windswept Atlantic coastline, Tintagel is a place of magic and myth where the legend of King Arthur was born. Even though this 13th century castle is now a romantic ruin, it is still full of mystery. Whilst there, descend to the cove below and explore Merlin’s Cave, but be careful as the cave is cut off by tides twice a day. Finish by building your own Tintagel in the sands of Trebarwith Strand, one of Cornwall’s finest beaches just south of Tintagel.

Go on a Family Surfing Safari

Cornwall’s northern coast is the ideal location to set off on your very own family surfing safari. Newquay is at the heart of Britain’s surfing culture and the prefect place for families to learn how to ride the waves at the National Surfing Centre, one of Britain’s top surfing schools. At their bases on North Fistral Beach and Lusty Glaze beach, The National Surfing Centre offers a wide range of courses including half-day taster sessions. Kids-only classes run throughout the summer months for children aged 8 -12. You’ll also find surf schools further down the coast at the Sennen surfing Centre and further up the coast at Bude at the Big Blue Surf School.

Talk to the Animals at Newquay Zoo

If you want to take your little monkeys to see the real thing then Newquay Zoo will keep the whole family entertained. Set in 10 acres of exotic lakeside gardens, Newquay Zoo has over 130 different species including lemurs, penguins, meerkats, lions and of course monkeys. Spot the exotic animals in the open jungle rainforest exhibit in the Tropical House, or let your children explore the Tarzan Trail, visit the Village Farm or find their way through the Dragon Maze. Events are run throughout the year and there’s late evening opening in summer.

Many people have no idea that their personal computer can be easily accessed while they are navigating on the internet and that personal information about them and their computer can be gathered and used later by hackers and multiple companies against them.

All these things can happen if your IP address, which is given to your computer when it accesses the internet, is detected by unscrupulous persons. After finding your IP address it is only a matter of time until they will track all your moves around the internet and they will be able to hack into your computer and steal personal information like home address, phone number, and personal passwords.

In no time you can be assaulted with hundreds of commercials for some kind of product you searched for on the internet a day before, or the boss will find out about your last emails or even your wife or husband can find out about the latest web sites you visited.

In order to protect themselves against such eavesdroppers and web sites they are browsing, many people use anonymous surfing. Anonymous surfing allows you to navigate on the internet without leaving a trail of particulars about your browser, your computer system, your country and IP address.

The anonymous surfing works by using an anonymous proxy server which will talk to the web site and then communicate the requested information to you. The anonymous proxy site is waiting for you to enter the address (URL) of the site you wish to go to and then it will retrieve the page for you and present it to you in a safe way.

The web site you are visiting will not know who you are, will not retrieve you IP address and will only have information about the proxy server you use. When using a proxy server you have to make sure this is an anonymous proxy server, meaning that it will not know you IP address because other common proxy servers can see you IP address and so they can sent it towards the target server. The real anonymous proxy servers are not giving away this information and so your IP is safe from eavesdroppers. The anonymous proxy server will provide its own IP address when you visit a site.

In most of the cases you can use free web anonymizers in order to anonymously surf the web. You don’t need to modify any settings in your browser or setup any programs to surf the web anonymously.

This thing is legal as long as you do not use it for stealing information or for making illegal business on the internet. It can only be used for personal protection against family members, companies or any other eavesdropper who might harm you after gathering personal information about you.

Uses for Anonymous Proxy Surfing

Jan-30-2011 By admin

Anonymous proxy servers are used by people for different reasons which include: keeping businesses anonymous, securely connecting to the Internet when traveling, and protecting personal privacy. An anonymous proxy is used for all three purposes by hiding your IP address and encrypting your connection; allowing you to be invisible while you surf the Internet.

Anonymous surfing for business use is ideal for many different reasons. Most websites record your IP address and can tell where you are surfing from, your port number, and a lot of other information. Proxy servers allow you to remain anonymous while researching competitors, since they have no record of your IP address. You can also bypass restrictive posting limits and anonymously publicize on your own website without breaking any spamming policies. Anonymous proxies can also save company money since you don’t have to hire someone to post for you. Since your IP address is like your ID card for the Internet, websites and forums block you based on your IP address. You can unblock yourself from sites where you might have been previously banned since you will be surfing with a fresh IP address.

As a traveler anonymous surfing is important too. You might want to use the Internet in a local hotel or an airport that offers high speed internet. These are the most common places people are hacked since most of those lines are unsecured and can be easily infiltrated. Someone sitting across from you at the local Starbucks can hack your connection without disrupting your system. You can now check your finances or other sensitive information, worry-free, since anonymous proxy servers protect all of your wireless activities when you are in a hotel or an airport. Your connection is secured with data encryption.

Anonymous proxy surfing is the best way to maintain personal privacy on the Internet. Surfing through a proxy can protect all of your personal information and thwart identity thieves. Identity theft can occur by having your sensitive information snooped through an unsecured connection, or by tracking your IP address. An anonymous proxy can also stop marketing companies and search engines from tracking and recording your surfing habits. Anyone trying to track you will not be able to tell your location because anonymous proxy servers will mask your IP and make it look like you are surfing from a different location.

Anonymous surfing provides total protection for personal use, business use, and traveling. You can rest assured no one is tracking your online activities when you are surfing the web, or sniffing personal information from an unsecured connection. Your data will be encrypted and secured, and the only information a company can track is what the server allows them to.

Looking for a new laptop, but overwhelmed by models and features. What is the best brand & model for general web surfing and usage?

For basic computing, any laptop is sufficient. You don’t need anything high end for simple web surfing, so a cheap netbook will do fine.

What if I told you that your surfing will take on a whole new meaning once you have have cultivated physical, mental and spiritual growth. If you’re like me, your first question might be “Ok, what’s the catch? Do I have to quit smoking and eat beet greens every day?” The answer is “yes,” those things are no-brainer’s. But the real secret lies in a growing phenomenon that is deeply rooted in history – surf yoga.

Your ability to surf better is directly related to your core strength, balance, your focus and determination and your mental and spiritual well-being. Improving your ability in the water just doesn’t happen with out a good surfing fitness program. Yoga is practiced by many of the world’s best surfer’s, most notably 9-time World Title holder Kelly Slater. Kelly is just one of thousands of surfer’s who practice surf yoga as a ritual, and the benefits are obvious; improved performance in the water, improved mental health and improved physical well-being.

Disciplining yourself and getting to know your body in this way may be something new to you, so take it easy at first and then push yourself once you have an idea of where your limits are. Learning what your body is actually capable of will not only surprise you, but will translate directly into more radical turns, faster recoveries from slip-ups and falls, and overall harmony with the waves.

Yoga for Surfers borrows the best poses and exercises from other Yoga disciplines and combines them into a routine that targets specific muscle groups, builds the inner body strength surfers need, and provides the same mental focus lessons that have benefited all peoples for centuries. After becoming familiar with your body’s needs, you will develop a shortened routine that you can practice on the beach before every session out. You will come to love this time just before paddling out; your opportunity to bring mind, body and spirit together.

The opening prayer for the practice of yoga reads:

“Because I want more peace of mind and stability in life, I faithfully practice Yoga as it has been passed down by the surf gurus.”

I’ve taken the liberty of adding “surf” into the mantra before “gurus” just for you. Recite it a couple times. Close your eyes and clear your head for a moment. Set aside your worries and inhibitions. Breathe deeply and slowly a few times. Picture yourself flashing the peace sign as you tuck into a perfect barrel. Feel the crystal clear blue water as it spills over your shoulder. Now, relax your body and focus on the words “surf gurus” and you’ve got it. You’re ready to start practicing surf yoga and soon you will be opened up to a whole new perspective on life, and most importantly, surfing.

All surfers are young at heart, but the harsh reality is that the body just doesn’t keep up. If you want to continue to surf better, then you need to start looking after your body. Surf Yoga is a whole lot more fun that running on a treadmill, lifting weights, or just plain stretching. Yoga for surfers is really an extension of the sport you already love. Embrace it now, or you may as well start giving away waves to the kids next time you paddle out.
