I am blessed with straight, fine hair. It rarely holds a curl and that only depends on what products I use. I am not looking for a "perm". Does anyone have suggestions on what products work best, and how to get my hair to have nice natural-looking waves?

Use gel or moose while your hair is still wet and scrunch it with your hands….Then hair dry as you keep on scrunching! I have the exact same hair type as you do, and this works for me all the time!

Volkswagen is making waves overseas. In Dubai, a circulating scam email stating that the recipient has won a huge cash prize plus a new car courtesy of Volkswagen has caused major confusion among people in the UAE. Volkswagen has already released an official statement saying that they have not sent any email containing such message. The German automaker has warned people in the UAE to be careful and not to easily believe such hoax email.

The scam email is believed to originate from Nigeria were scam artist abound. The scam email was believed by many people since it states there that it came from “The Lottery Department, Volkswagen Automobiles”. Furthermore, according to the circulating fake emails, the recipient has been selected from more than two hundred fifty thousand email addresses. The winner is said to receive two million pounds or Dh14.4 million plus a Volkswagen car.

The scam email also provides what appears to be a UK telephone number which supposedly winners may contact to get their secret pin code from a Claim officer.

Volkswagen UK has already made a statement saying that the emails circulating in the UAE have no connection with their company and should be ignored at all cost. “Extensive enquiries have revealed this is an online scam originating from Nigeria,” Volkswagen said.

The German automaker also stressed that the stated UK number found in the scam email is in fact routes to a Nigerian premium rate number. This means that people who are to call this number will end up with a heavily charged telephone bill. It is believed that it is through the bill from which the scam artist will received his part of the deal.

In other Volkswagen overseas news, in Kula Lumpur, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that troubled carmaker Proton and largest German automaker Volkswagen AG are in negotiations but he refused to give details of the deal.

According to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in an interview with New Straits Times, ‘I don’t want to comment because it is being negotiated.’

Further reports last week say that Volkswagen has agreed to buy a controlling stake in Proton’s manufacturing division. This news has had favorably affected Proton’s shares which rose to 13.14pct Friday to 7.75 rgt.

The Malaysian government is under intense pressure to announce details of the said partnership between the losing Proton and Germany’s giant Volkswagen. It should be noted that Proton last year lost its status as Malaysia’s biggest selling carmaker to its rival Perodoa.

Aside from Volkswagen, Proton has also tried to negotiate with the US auto giant General Motors as well as with PSA Peugeot Citroen of France. There are also three Malaysian automotive firms that have expressed their interest in taking stakes in the company.

It is interesting to note that the Malaysian government owns 59 pct of Proton in addition to a 43 pct stake held by its investment arm Khazanah Nasional.

Volkswagen and Proton will release their official announcement on February 8, 2007.

My hair is in layered, and has always been straight. But recently, after i get out of the shower, my top, shortest layers of hair become gorgeously wavy. (NOTE: This only happens when I get out of the shower and don’t brush my hair). I really like the waves, but when i brush my hair in the morning or brush my hair at night, it goes straight again. ALSO, the bottom, longest layers of my hair stay straight. They never ever get wavy. I want them to be wavy, though!
Any suggestions, please?

When you get out the shower straight away dont brush it or comb it and put it into a towel turban ( when you put your head upside down and wrap a towel around it) Then after about 10 to 15 minutes take your hair out and it should be curly/wavey. Then put hair mouse in you hair and scrunch it afterwards whilst you hairs still wet put it up in a messy bun and so it has all bumps in it. Then when you wake up in the morning dont comb it but if its messy just use a wide toothed comb over the bits that are messy, then scruch it again with mousse and put hair spray on it.

This inspiring and empowering pop music got hyped up due to its message that was used in the wake of one of America’s worst calamity, Hurricane Katrina. Stand Up For Love, written by David Foster, became popular with its positive and engaging message that managed to instill a sense of cooperation and patriotism among the American people. It has somehow relieved the Americans from the stress and anxiety that was brought by the calamity.

Anxiety, which is described as an overwhelming fear, apprehension, and worry — has struck many Americans. Those who felt agitation did not only include residents from New Orleans who were hardest hit by Katrina. Even those miles away from the calamity zone felt great unease about the apparent lack of preparation of local and federal agencies to manage such a large-scale disaster.

One can just imagine the tremendous undertaking every person has go into just to avert the adverse effects of this typhoon. Hurricane Katrina, which was considered as one of the deadliest tempests to hit America, destroyed 81 billion dollars worth of property and claimed 1,836 lives. Hurricane Katrina caused panic or anxiety attacks as people tried to flee the calamity area. The lack of safe shelter made their worries grow stronger. People were emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually shattered by the storm.

At the lowest point of their lives, the victims of Hurricane Katrina found a new sense of hope through the song Stand Up For Love. With the positive and mind-awakening lyrics, the song, not only rose to the top of the pop charts but also catapulted the morale of New Orleans. Instead of wallowing in their grief, the people of New Orleans reinforced their hopes by standing up and moving to rebuild their town. Some would even dare say that the very sound of Destiny’s Child’s phenomenal song somewhat acted as anxiety relief to those who lost almost everything to Hurricane Katrina. Unlike any costly and short-range effects of the usual anxiety relief medication, the song was able to powerfully yet subtly influence people all across America to take part in the massive relief efforts.

Aside from the picturesque beauty of the female trio, the Stand Up For Love video shows clips of Hurricane Katrina’s destructive effects on people from different walks of life. Compelling as it was presented, the music video, didn’t only showcase the beauty of the song but the reality and benefits of helping one another in times of national emergency. Indeed, the music played an important role in alleviating the pain and restoring the positive mindset of the people – which is anxiety relief on a massive scale. The song was actually used again to celebrate the 2005 World’ Children’s Day.

Therefore, though the song did not actually reign supreme in the music charts, it has undeniably made a positive impact in New Orleans and in other parts of America. There are so many medical scams at the moment, being touted as “miracle cures” for almost any ailment, one is inclined to view all unorthodox therapy systems with skepticism. 

Nevertheless, the possibility that some people may possess an extraordinary power, known as “healing hands” is an intriguing feature of therapy that should not be ignored.

Although it is a theory that is completely rejected by orthodox medical opinion, there are a growing number of highly respected scientists who attach a great deal of importance to this method of alternative medicine.

Another theory, which in some respect parallels this concept of some humans being able to generate or radiate a mysterious magnetic mental force ,  is  to be seen in the case of  the relationship between humans and plants.   

There is a great deal of authenticated evidence to suggest that this does in fact occur and  plants do respond in some strange  way to human emotions.

This would perhaps explain why some people appear to possess, what is commonly referred to as “green fingers”, and have an amazing capacity to encourage growth in plants and flowers, while others have no success at all.

 If this relationship, which depends on emotional bonding between humans and plants,  exists – as has been claimed by reliable, objective, biologists  – how much more likely is it to occur between humans?

I tend to get heat waves, like a flushing that is really hot but have no other symptoms of a flu. This started about 3-6 weeks ago. If it were happening while I was in a cooler area of my house, then I would be more concerned, but my upstairs there is heat vents that give out really hot air. Could it be the reason for these sweats? They tend to happen more when I think about it too btw!!
