    Try this: “1/2″ thickness for each 25 lb. of body wt. and 2′ longer than height. To be more exact use: .50 cubic feet of foam per 25 lb. of body weight” From a shaping site. If you are not a beginner then it is pretty much up to you. If you are a beginner go big and as you get better go smaller, advantage is less weight and more flex for tricks but there is no point having a small board if you can’t ride it. no surfer is the same so don’t get a board just coz it is what a pro is using.
